Located at the crossroads of Highway 37 and Hwy 11, Winnsboro is located 90 miles from Dallas in the northeastern corner of the state. The history of Winnsboro goes back to 1854 when a man by the name of John E. Winn was passing through the east end of Wood County. He became the founder of this small Old-Fashioned town. Original name was Crossroads, but changed in 1901 to Winnsboro to honor its founder. Winnsboro is known for its colorful Autumn leaves and many activities and festivals.
