East of Dallas, Tyler is served by State Highways 69, 271 and 31. Home to Texas College, University of Texas at Tyler, and Tyler Jr. College - famous for the 'Apache Belles' precision drill team.
Known for their roses, Tyler also has an annual Azalea and Spring Flower Trail of 8-miles including fun run, historic home tour, arts & crafts with some historic homes open for tours. There is a municipal Rose Garden & Museum (22 acres) with nearly 500 varieties represented by 38,000 rose bushes.
The Charnwood residential historic district includes homes dating back to 1860's with styles including Tudor, revival, Colonial, Craftsman, Queen Anne and more 'modern' ranch-style.
