Jasper
Corps of Engineers impoundment with public parks, camps and marinas at lake side. Activities include boating, swimming and fishing. (Also location of Martin Dies Jr.. State Park - See Jasper) For information contact project HQ at dam off FM 92. Located mid-way between Woodville and Jasper.
Bob Sandlin
Acres: 1,242

Near town of
Mount Pleasant
Reservoir on Big Cypress River with commercial marinas, cabins, fishing barges, boat ramps, restaurants and fishing. Bob Sandlin State Park on FM 127 and FM 21 provides day use & overnight camping, picnic sites, screened shelters, boat ramp, fishing pier and trails. Information can be obtained at lake HQ off FM 3417 from US 271 south of Mount Pleasant. Also accessible from Pittsburg. Lakes Monticello & Cypress Springs are adjacent.
Brandy Branch Reservoir
Acres: 1,242

Near town of
Marshall
Power plant cooling reservoir offers boat ramp, bank fishing (limited). No camping facilities. Located between Marshall and Longview off I-20 on FM 3251 (exit 610) 3 miles south.
Caddo
Acres: 26,800

Near town of
Karnack
Spreads over portions of Texas and Louisiana. There are 42 miles of boat roads (marked by state) because the lake is so large. Excellent fishing. Lots of marinas and camps at lake side. Caddo Lake State Park is a few miles north of Karnak. Also, accessible from Jefferson and Uncertain.
Conroe
Acres: 20,985

Near town of
Conroe
Impoundment on the West Fork of the San Jacinto River. Lake side offers boat ramps, boat rentals (sailboat included), marinas, and campgrounds. Observation and dam off Texas 105 west of Conroe. Also accessible from I-45 via FM 1097 west and FM 830 west (not shown on most maps). Fishing include catfish, native game fish and other introduced species including walleye and striped bass.
Cypress Springs
Acres: 3,400

Near town of
Mount Vernon
Scenic area offering shoreline parks, campgrounds and picnic areas, RV hookups, boat ramps, commercial marinas, swimming beach and rest rooms. Five parks include Dogwood Park, Mary King Park, Walleye Park, Overlook Park and W.D. Jack Guthrie Park. Excellent bird watching. Fishing for catfish and black bass. Located approximately 8 miles southeast of Mount Vernon via Texas 37 south, FM 2723 east. Also, accessible from Pittsburg.
Lake O'Pines

Jefferson
Corps of Engineers reservoir and one of the most attractive in East texas. Activities include boating, fishing, sailing, swimming, camping, and water skiing. For information contact HQ at east end of Ferrell's Bridge Dam, FM 726. Located approximately 10 miles west of Jefferson via FM 729. Also accessible from Gilmer, Lone Star, Ore City, Daingerfield and Avinger.
Livingston

Reservoir on the Trinity River offering camps and parks, marinas with a broad range of services for camping, fishing, and boating. (see Lake Livingston State Park - Livingston) Accessible west of Livingston off US 190 and many FM roads on both sides of lake.
Martin Creek

Near town of
Tatum
Popular lake with boaters and fishermen. State Park (Tatum) on north shore with picnic area, camping, bait, tackle and boat ramp. Located approximately 4 miles southwest of Tatum via Texas 43 and local road south from FM 1716 intersection.
Monticello Reservoir
Acres: 2,000

Near town of
Mount Pleasant
Companion impoundment to Lake Bob Sandlin. Popular year-round but more so in the winter when fishermen seek bass in the lunker category. County park with picnicking, camping sites, boat ramps, and electric hook-ups. Accessible 8 miles southwest of Mount Pleasant via FM 127.
Muvaul
Acres: 3,820

Near town of
Carthage
Activities include water skiing, boating, swimming, fishing along with lake side campsites. Hunting: waterfowl during winter season. Located approximately 12 miles southwest of Carthage via FM 10. Also accessible from Tenaha, Mount Enterprise and Henderson.
Nacogdoches
Acres: 2,210

Near town of
Nacogdoches
Impoundment with 2 lake side city parks offering boat ramps, picnic shelters (group/individual), floating dock and swimming areas. Also, sailing, boating, fishing and skiing. Marked nature trail with varieties of pines and hardwoods and other native flora identified. No overnight camping. Accessible 12 miles west of Nacogdoches on FM 225.
Palestine
Acres: 25,560

Jacksonville
Impoundment offering boating, fishing and water sports. Facilities include bait & tackle shops, marina, swimming beach, boat ramps and camping areas. Located approximately 13 miles northwest of Jacksonville via US 175. Also accessible from Tyler via Texas 155 south and Athens, Frankston and Palestine.
Pinkston
Acres: 523

Near town of
Center
Owned by the City of Center this lake routinely provides trophy-size bass. Accessible 12 miles southwest of Center off Texas 7.
Quitman
Acres: (Small)

Near town of
Quitman
Facilities include boat service and rentals, marinas, RV campsites (w/hookups), tent campsites, swimming area. Fishing: crappie, bass, bluegills and catfish. Access is approximately 4 miles north of Quitman via FM 2966 (not shown on most maps).
Sam Rayburn Reservoir
Acres: 114,500

Near town of
Jasper
Located in the heart of Angelina National Forest - very popular offering parks, marinas, camps and assorted recreational activities along its 560 mile shore. Activities include fishing, boating. For information contact HQ at west end of dam on FM 255 or chambers of commerce in near-by towns. Located approximately 20 miles north of Jasper via US 96 and FM 1008. Also accessible from Huntington, Zavalla, Lufkin, San Augustine, Etoile, Hemphill, Broaddus, Brookeland and Pineland.
Striker
(Formerly Striker Creek Reservoir)

Great bass lake with marina services and boat launching facilities. Recreation includes camping areas and picnicking. Located approximately 18 miles southwest of Henderson off US 79. Also accessible from New Salem, Jacksonville and New Summerfield.
Toledo Bend Reservoir

Near town of
Burkeville
Impoundment on Sabine River between Texas 7 Louisiana. Open waters provide plenty of room for sailing, boating, and fishing. Information and maps available at near-by towns and at the 7 offices of Texas Sabine River Authority - dam north of Burkeville, FM 692 & FM 3125; off Texas 87 south of Hemphill; off Texas 21 where it crosses lake east of Milam; southeast of Patroon on local roads east of Shelbyville on FM 2694; northeast of Shelbyville via FM 417, FM 139 north; and southeast of Joaquin off FM 139. Also accessible from Center, Hemphill, San Augustine and other near cities.
Tyler and Tyler East

Adjacent lakes with lake side facilities offering boat ramps, marina, camping & RV sites (w/hookups). Fishing: crappie, black bass, catfish and a variety of scrappy panfish. Located approximately 12 miles southeast of Tyler via Texas 110 south and FM 346 east. Also accessible from Troup, Arp and Whitehouse.
Welsh Reservoir

Mount Pleasant
Impoundment popular for fishing and camping. Facilities include lake side camping areas, cabins, bait and tackle and boat ramps. Fish: crappie, largemouth bass, catfish and bream. Located approximately 11 miles southeast of Mount Pleasant via Texas 49 east and FM 1735.
Winnsboro
Acres: 806

Near town of
Winnsboro
Recreational impoundment with lake side RV hookups, campsites, swimming, picnicking, boat rentals, marina, bait & tackle. Site of annual bass tournaments. Located approximately 6 miles southwest of Winnsboro via Texas 37. Also accessible from Quitman.
Wright Patman
Acres: 20,300

Near town of
Texarkana
Corps of Engineer lake on Sulphur River. Popular in the northeast region offering water sports, picnicking, camping, hiking trails, and fishing. many public parks and commercial facilities along the shore. Atlanta State Park is on south Shore. Located approximately 12 miles southwest of Texarkana off US 59. Also accessible from Douglassville, Atlanta, Maud, Queen City and Linden.
