With more than 45 attractions and amusement places, 3 golf courses, 25 river out-fitters, 1 marina and the Annual October Wurstfest, what's not to like about New Braunfels? Located in central-southwest Texas, northeast of San Antonio off Interstate Highway 35 New Braunfels is served by State Highway 46.
The Guadalupe and Comal rivers provide excellent water recreation with the Guadalupe between Canyon Dam and New Braunfels famous for the rapids and clear water - excellent tubing. The annual Wurstfest is held for 10 days in early November with delicious 'wursts', music, drink and dancing.
Conservation Plaza preserves structures dating to the 1850's. And if you like historic structures be sure to visit Gruene - a c1850-1880 German village which is now part of New Braunfels. Gruene has both restored buildings and ruins including old homes, stores, and a rustic beer hall .
The Schlitterbahn water park is 65 acrea of fun. Located on the banks of the Coman River there's something for everyone.
